No change in disposition. Battalion advanced to its objectives – the sunked road in front of Brickfield at A.25.a.35.75. Heavy opposition from many machine guns and artillery was encountered. At 11.00a.m. Enemy planes flew over our lines, dropping bombs and firing machine guns for about fifteen minutes. At night battalion was relived by 8th Battalion and moved in support at St. Saulve. Casualties Other ranks – 22 wounded and 2 killed. E Echelon moved from Wavercahir Sur Denain to Valenciennes. Weather fair.
