2nd Bn, CEF-Wednesday, September 4, 1918
During the operations on preceding days Liaison was very indifferent, consequently elements of units, brigades, and even divisions were mixed. And until the correct disposition of these were collected no individual or concentrated effort could possibly be successful. The morning was spent on this. Gas shelling by the enemy was continued and his heavy guns played on Inchy. Later during the day orders were received that relief of the Bn. would be effect by the 29th Battalion. An enemy counter-attack considerably delayed completion of relief and not until the early hours was it accomplished.
