2nd Bn, CEF-Sunday, October 13, 1918
Close touch was kept with the enemy in case of a withdrawal on his part. Plans were made whereby the 2nd and 3rd Can.Inf.Bns. (the two front line battalions) would cross the Canal and enter Ferin with a view to establishing an outpost line East of the village and, if not successful in this, to obtain as much information in connection with the disposition of the enemy’s forces on the 1st Brigade front as could be had. During the day there was no sign to indicate that the enemy was contemplating a withdrawal, although things were abnormally quiet. Transport and rear Details moved from P.2.c.70.30 (ref.51B) at 1215 hrs. Arriving at J21.a.20.50 (Ref.51B) at 1340 hrs. Weather: Unsettled.
