2nd Bn. CEF- Saturday, August 10, 1918
The weather was very quiet during the early hours of the morning and day broke very bright and clear. At 8:00am information was received that the 32nd Division on our right and the 4th Canadian Division on our left would pass through the 1st Can. Division and resume the attack. A little excitement was caused when within a few hundred yards of the camp an enemy aeroplane fired into the convoy, but, fortunately, without causing a casualty. Shelling of the rear area was practically nil, although forward the incessant firing conveyed the impression that our forces were meeting with stubborn resistance. This was confirmed in the evening. The enemy had concentrated reserve troops, and had several times counter-attacked. Meanwhile our ‘heavies’ were moved up, one battery close to Bn. H.Q. and no time was lost in coming into action. Weather: Fine and warm.
