Lines moved from Waverly Camp in the Garrison to Cliff Camp – Battalion marched out at 1pm by Cross Roads to Douai Road Arras-St Pot, whence the men proceeded by trucks to Savvy, arriving about 3.30pm – Entrained at 7.30pm with great excitement as destination was unknown. Secret orders controlling the move. Jury was – are we going North or South? Are we to attack on merely defend?
