Transport moved off at 7.30a.m. Battalion moved off in full marching order at 11.00a.m. Proceeded to Agnez les Duissans arriving at 12.00 noon. Had dinner at C.C.R.C entraining at 1.45. Arrived at Marquoin at 9.00pm and marched to Sauchy Lestree, some hun shells fell around Sauchy Lestree and near Canal Crossing in afternoon and evening.
The day passed very quietly there being little aerial activity as the day was dull with poor visibility. Enemy shelled Iquy and the road near “A” Company Headquarters, but no casualties reported.
Everything exceptionally quiet. Our heavy artillery carried out several destructive shoots on Gerin and points East of the Canal. Enemy shelling consisted of harassing fire on Brebieres and Gouy-sous-Bellonne. At night Noyelle-sous-Bellonne was heavily shelled with gas-shells. Weather: Became unsettled with low ground mists. Visibly, fair.
