Rain at intervals during the day, and training was carried out, as usual, in the morning. Bombing along the Arras-Cambrai Road and on the rear areas during the night. Lieut.-Colonel Pense attended conference of Commanding Officers at the 4th Brigade Headquarters at 2000 hours.

Preparing to move. Part of Transport moved off at 7.30a.m. and remainder at 1.30p.m. Battalion left B.H.Q. at 10.00 p.m. arriving at embussing point near Queant at 11.00p.m. Moved off in lorries at 11.15p.m. Enemy aircraft dropped bombs but no casualties in the 38th Battalion. Weather cloudy all day, clear at night.

Church parades were held by Protestants and Roman Catholics, the former in the field at 0915 hours the latter in the Church, Cagnicourt at 0930 hours. Baths at Hendecourt again allotted and remainder of Battalion bathed. Warning Order Received from Brigade. Syllabus of Training Issued. Weather: Fair. Very windy.
