Arrived in Boves Wood about 2am – Orders and instructions, and further explaining to the officers and men. Marched out at 8pm for the Assembly Point, which as in the vicinity of Gentelles Wood. All ranks showed great enthusiasm of the mere prospect of having a snack at the halls and of proving their availability for open warfare. On arriving at the Assembly Point the Battalion bivouacked in the fields, behind the cemetery and West of the village of Gentilles.
